Kendo U-Team Member Erin Li Wins Gold at 2023 Chengdu Kendo Open Championship

Current HKU Kendo U-Team member and PhD student, Miss Erin Li Huiyun, has won her first-ever gold medal in the individual category (2nd Dan and Below Group) at the 2023 Chengdu Kendo Open Championship held in Chengdu on 15 July, 2023. This impressive achievement is a testament to Erin's hard work and perseverance.

Erin's outstanding performance in the competition has showcased the high standard of HKU student-athletes who are dedicated and committed to their sport. The win is a remarkable accomplishment for Erin whose efforts and commitment have truly paid off.

The Kendo U-Team coach, Ms. Agnes Lee, also deserves recognition for her generous time and persistent efforts in training and motivating the team. Agnes has been a fantastic coach and has played a significant role in this success.

The 2023 Chengdu Kendo Open Championship was a highly competitive event with approximately 250 participants competing in, and Erin's gold medal is a significant achievement. Congratulations to Erin on her success.
